It is fairly easy to interpret data using the Garmin Forerunner 220 as it is one of the first Garmin running watches to have a colour display. There are simple button operations as well as a sturdy, hinged wristband that’s comfortable for any size wrist.
Extra Training Features
It is possible to set up alerts for heart rate, pace or run/walk intervals with the Garmin Forerunner 220. It is even easier to be notified of the set alerts as the Garmin Forerunner 220 features vibration alerts and audible alerts. This means that you can customise your watch to provide both or just one type of prompt. You can view your progress after your run as a post-run summary is visible. The Garmin Forerunner 220 also notices if you hit any personal records on that run, like your fastest kilometre, 5k, 10k, half or full marathon or your longest run to date.
With the Garmin Forerunner 220, you can analyse your performance after your run, race or training. Even if it is not possible to access your computer staright away, the Garmin Forerunner 220 will upload the data to Garmin Connect, Garmin's online community that allows you to upload, plan, save and share your activities and performances. All this is possible by merely downloading the Garmin Connect Mobile app to your smartphone and pairing it with the Garmin Forerunner 220. The watch will automatically upload your saved run to the Garmin Connect site when you are within range of your smartphone.
The Garmin Forerunner 220 include other connected features like live tracking. The live tracking feature enables your friends, family and fans to check your progress and stats in real time. It is important to note, however, that the phone must be paired with the the Garmin Forerunner 220 throughout your run to use the LiveTrack feature.
